Lean Six Sigma as a Vehicle for Successful Business Transformation

UNIVERSITY OF STRATHCLYDE

Date:     15th - 16th December 2008
Event:   Conference
Location:   University of Strathclyde, Glasgow

The Centre for Research in Six Sigma and Process Excellence, a centre of the Strathclyde Institute for Operations Management and University of Strathclyde, is proud to host the Third International Conference on Six Sigma.

Professor Peter Hines, Director of the Lean Enterprise Research Centre will be presenting a workshop entitled 'Staying Lean: Where are you on the journey?'

For many companies in applying Lean Thinking, or other improvement approaches such as Six Sigma, the biggest challenge is not starting a programme, but sustaining the early gains and repeating the medium to long term benefits they had hoped for. Many of the issues they face have more to do with leadership, strategy deployment or staff engagement rather than knowledge of implementation tools. This workshop builds on the key note address by Professor Peter Hines at last year's conference and is particularly designed for those from industry that want to see how they are doing on sustaining their change programmes and identifying what areas they need to address to be more sustainable.
