Date:     30-31 January 2012
Event:   Workshop
Location:   Oxford, UK

Over the last 20 years of our leading research, consultancy and training within the lean community we have found that the emphasis has moved away from questions like ‘Where do I start' and ‘How do I get trained in the tools'. In fact for companies some years into the journey the questions are now ‘Why am I not achieving as much as I hoped' and ‘How do I stop things stalling'.

The reason for this is that many have adopted the more visible parts of Lean such as the training and application of diagnostic and implementation Tools & Techniques. However, this has often been done in isolation of other key areas. In particular the People element of Lean has often been missed or at least underplayed.

This advanced workshop is for middle or senior managers who are seeing just these issues in their organisation. It helps you to understand how to correct this and start developing a Lean Culture.

We do this by helping understand what a complete Lean Business System involves and then importance of areas such as Strategy Deployment, Leadership, Engagement and Behaviour.

What can you expect to get out of the course:

  • Understand your existing culture & understand what culture is required to create a Lean Business System
  • Identify the Lean Leadership development of Managers at all levels
  • Discuss the '5 Dispositions' necessary to Lean Leadership & make preliminary assessments of Managers against them
  • Design a process of development against the identified needs and in consideration of current Leadership development activity

There is a high level of interest in our Lean Business System, and our work through the University of South Australia with the RAAF is a great example of how transferrable this approach is across industries. Our plan is to establish a business that can be sustained long term and help organisations in Australia to improve and grow.”
